i need help...

i dunno if anyone reads this thing, but i just purchased a canon rebel xsi this afternoon and no matter how hard i try, i cannot figure out how to put the stupid camera strap on it. can someone help me??? please include step-by-step intructions, if not pictures. the diagram in the manual isnt helping...
